Music Lesson InformationI maintain a studio of bass students that I teach at my home in Shoreview, Minnesota. Lessons are either 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length, depending on the developmental level of the student. Students are expected to practice for a daily minimum equal to number of minutes for their weekly lesson (practice 30 minutes a day if they have a 30 minute lesson).
1) Technique work - exercises, scales and etudes.
2) Solo Repertoire - from 1 to 3 solos, depending on the level of the student.
3) Orchestral Studies - all students are also encouraged to bring music from ensembles they are playing with to their lessons. Advanced students also work on additional standard orchestral repertoire.
Recitals take place usually twice a year in January and May. Venues for recitals have included Hamline's Sundin Recital Hall as well as local churches, schools and retirement homes.
